About the Program

As of January 2021, the Texas General Land Office (GLO) has assisted over 6,000 Texas families recover from Hurricane Harvey through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for the Disaster Recovery program. Specifically, the GLO has rebuilt 2,500+ homes with keys in the hands of homeowners. 

The Texas General Land Office (GLO) is accepting applications for the state-administered Homeowners Assistance Program (HAP). This program is currently open to homeowners in Harris County who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. The HAP program will repair and rehabilitate, reconstruct, and improve a damaged home so that it is more resilient against natural disasters.

Funding is still available for new applications:  Funding is still available for Harris County residents still in need of assistance who have not yet applied. 

Current applicants: Home repairs and reconstruction applicants should have been notified by the GLO and Harris County as to which program they should continue to work with.  For details on application status please call 1-844-893-8937.
