The Citizen's EMS Academy is an interactive forum for La Porte residents to learn more about the functions and operations of EMS.
The academy is held one (1) night a week for six (6) weeks and gives the participant a unique insight into the work of an EMS agency, how the EMS system operates on a daily basis, and how to become a citizen EMS alumni. Weekly sessions will include the history of La Porte EMS, EMS operations, patient care, CPR and First Aid training, Stop the Bleed training, tour of EMS HQ and the Dispatch Center and a ride along with paramedics as an observer.
Minimum age requirement is 18 years of age or older.
This course takes place on Tuesday of each week for six (6) weeks starting January 9, 2018 thru February 13, 2018 from 6-9 pm, and graduation will be held on Tuesday February 20, 2018.

Application forms must be completed and submitted at La Porte EMS Headquarters located at 10428 Spencer Hwy., La Porte, Texas by 5:00pm on December 27, 2017 and class size is limited to 15 participants.
